That's right, I've opened a new blog, an Arsenal blog. I know 95% of you wouldn't be bothered about it, but I thought I should let you know that I made another blog. And no, this blog will NOT be abandoned. Yet.
The reason I didn't want to publish football stuffs here is because this blog is more about me and my life, and I don't want football to fuse with it.
So yeah, I will try to update about something some other time. Till then.
So I'm back from my weekend visit @ my dad's hometown: Sungai Rambai. It's technically located in Melacca, and it takes only a one minute drive to reach the border of Johor. Literally.
That means, 20-30 minute drive to the popular place, Muar. That also means, I go to Muar for basically ALL my meals.
Oh ask me how much I love Muar. The food there is... glorious. It's awesome. Take my words for it, once you try it you'll LONG to go back to Muar. Penang is overrated.
"Is it the inability to describe oneself Muar's food in words or the inability of words to describe oneself Muar's food?"- Jie Sheng.
(Sorry mate, had to use it. =P)
OK so words cannot describe how amazing the foods are, but maybe a thousand words can.
Get the pun? Not a pun? OK.
So these are pictures of EVERYTHING GOOOOOD I put inside my mouth during my trip.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
LOCATION #1
JALAN HAJI ABU. More popularly known as T'am Cjia Kueh. (贪呷街)
Very small part of T'am Cjia Kueh.
Food #1:乌达 Otak-otak (prawn)
It's spicy, it's soft, it has prawns inside it, it's 60 cents, it's orange, it's wrapped with banana leaf, it's sure as hell tasty, and it's Muar's signature food. I don't think you can get better otak-otak anywhere else in the world. This is as good as it's gonna get.
There are 3 otak-otak seller in the same street. Unfortunately this one is not the best one, I've ordered wrongly. But it's still hella good.
(For Muarians, the best one is located in the middle of the street. The one on the right is too white and soft, the one on the left (corner) is too thick (the one above).)
Food #2:蚝煎 Oyster omelette
Egg, oyster, chilli. Fucking awesome. This is really indescribable, I can't compliment it enough. 'Nuff said. Comes in RM 5, RM 8, RM 10 or RM 15. This is the RM 8 plate FYI.
Food #3:Satay. Pork satay.
Where the heck can you find pork satay in Malaysia? Kajang (my mom's hometown btw)? Certainly not. This is my brother's favourite, and no wonder. It must be marinated, because it has that taste-bud tickling taste that'll make you want MORE MORE MORE. With meat so tender, and peanut sauce simply awesome, it's also only 50 cents a stick. There's also a chicken one, but meh.
Close-up.
PAY EXTRA ATTENTION TO THIS ONE.
Food #4:云吞面Wonton noodles.
I'm going to cry. I will. I've regretted I've not eaten more of this. Had a tantrum on my way home.
This is undoubtably the BEST wonton mee I have ever tasted in my life. Oh God, this dish couldn't be prepared any more perfectly. Red 叉烧 char siu (barbequed pork), greens, preserved chilli, some pepper, noodles cooked to absolute perfection, and the not-too-thin not-too-thick sauce that can actually magically stick to the noodles. The extremely tasty sauce makes the noodles really good to slurrp in your mouth.
Regular portion costs RM 2.80, large costs RM 3.30. Comes in spicy or non-spicy. The difference is actually the spiciness of the sauce. I don't know about the non-spicy one, but the spicy one is definitely kick ass.
It's worth the 30 minute wait, and is usually the last dish to arrive. There's an imitation store at the opposite of the street, which I heard, sucked.
(For Muarians, the genuine one uses glass plate, and the imitation one uses plastic.)
I TOLD YOU the sauce magically sticks to the noodles! Oh I'm salivating already...
Food (drink maybe) #5: (I have no idea)
I have no idea what this drink is. The waiter asked what drink I want, and when he gave examples I said "Yeah, 2 of that", without knowing what on earth did I order. It's an real awesome drink though. You cannot survive without a drink in T'am Cjia Kueh. Otak otak is spicy!
Damn, regretted I didn't found out what the drink is called.
Food #6:Bryan Loh Jian Yun
Just kidding, he's not tasty.
But seriously, that's him. His mom is from Muar too, and we came back at the exact same date, and we met at T'am Cjia Kueh. Claims that the wanton noodles sucks, and ate pork rice.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
So that's the best of T'am Cjia Kueh. Moving on...

LOCATION #2
Restoran Ting Ting
This is an awesome restaurant located in Muar. My late grandfather have always enjoyed eating here. Ahh good times. Nonetheless, the food is good, and this place is most popular for it's 生鱼米粉 snakehead bee hoon.
Food #1:生鱼米粉 Snakehead bee hoon
The signature dish. We requested the bee hoon to be seperated because I didn't like bee hoon. =)
Still, everything else is good. The soup has a unique taste, the fish is cut into slices, and has really good meat. It also has fishballs inside, which taste like how all fishballs taste like. The only downside is the skin is not removed from the fish slices. Me being fussy, I removed all of my skin before eating.
Fishball and fish slices.
Food #2:烤鸭Roast duck
This is my favourite, also my mom's favourite dish from the restaurant. The best duck I've ever tasted, and with good reasons. The duck is cooked so that the skin is crispy, and the meat inside is tender and juicy. The best part? The sauce. I don't know how to describe the sauce, thick and good perhaps? But the sauce will definitely blow your mind. They gave a bit too little sauce that day though.
I cover my meat with sauce before putting them into my mouth. =)
Food #3:Some fried meatball thing with chilli sauce.
This too is some good stuff. It's something like fried spring roll + porkballs. Again, crispy out the outside, soft and juicy in the inside. Not as good without the chilli sauce. Dad's favourite.
Food #4:Some fried fish with tomato sauce.
This is also something magical. Although soaked in heavenly sweet and sour tomato sauce, the fried fish is still crispy. Wonderous when eaten together with the onion.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
So those should be enough to salivate you. Okay.
So besides eating good food, we also went hunting.
Welcome to the jungle. That's my cousin brother. VERY playful.
Durian hunting, that is.
Well we didn't spend too much time hunting durians, I think we only managed to found 1 decent durian after a half hour. It wasn't the best place to be, I got pretty bored.
In conclusion, we go there with food in our head, we stay there with food in our mouth, and we go back with food in our boot.
I planned to take a day off on Tuesday, but to be really frank that's just an excuse for being out of plans.
Not good, I can't waste my holidays like that!!!
On Wednesday, Jin Shern and Daniel Johan came to my house to jam a little bit with their acoustic and classical guitars, but only until noon. So I spend my afternoon... doing absolutely nothing.
Except for Facebook. Damn I am so addicted to that thing. SO addicted. And also Physics tuition with Bryan. Oh and Accounts at night too.
I swear Jay Han saw the camera and posed.
And on Thursday... It's... another free day. Except that I went for Accounts tuition again at night.
Well the cool thing about free days is you get to make your meal, something I enjoy. But knowing that you MIGHT have friends outside there hanging out and you're down at home enjoying the aircond, refreshing your Facebook homepage, getting T-spins while playing Tetris, makes you feel pretty lifeless.
And today, bored peoples out there are blaming me for not organising futsal events. Oh well.
I guess I should be blamed.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
BUT BUT BUT!
I'm going back to my dad's hometown tomorrow morning, and staying there for a night!
YAY!
And you have no idea how AWESOME the food there are. You will when I come back with mouthwatering pictures. You'll lick your monitor.
Ohh those food... I better make more futsal events in U-One when I get back.
I really should be going out to the field for some sports, well, you'll know why soon enough.
But instead I'm here blogging because I know no one misses me.
Heh.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
So anyway, a few days ago I made breakfast for myself and blogged about it.
Today, I made lunch for myself, and I'm not only going to BLOG about it, I'm going to teach you how to make it! =)
Yes because I really have nothing better to do in the holidays.
And also I'd like to show off a little bit. =D
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Spaghetti A la SK (I don't know what 'A la' means I just thought it'd sound cool)
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
INGREDIENTS:
Pasta:
This is spaghetti, needless to say.
Pasta sauce:
You can make your own, but I'm taking the shortcut.
Onions, and meat of your preference:
You can choose not to use meat, but I'll be using minced chicken.
Cheese (and a pasta bowl):
Sliced cheese because I'm not rich.
Olive oil (extra virgin, I bought the wrong one), cooking oil, salt:
Olive oil is expensive, but vital.
Garlic (chopped):
Don't use all of this.
Boiling water:
No, I wouldn't dare put my hand in there.
Chilli sauce (optional)
I'm out of Tabasco sauce, so I'll simply use this.
There are tons more ingredients you can use. Mozzarella, romano, parmesan topping, mushrooms, tomatoes, basil & oregano, replace the oil used with canola oil or stuffs like that.
Don't have the time and money to get them though.
Also if you have Tabasco sauce, screw the chilli sauce. Add the Tabasco sauce while eating (optional).
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
PROCEDURE
1.Add some salt and oil to boiling water. Remember, AFTER the water is boiled and BEFORE the pasta is added.
2. Add in the spaghetti in to the boiling water.
I was feeling quite hungry so I thought I'd eat more.
3. After a while, fold the spaghetti in to the pot and close it. Make sure you don't break the spaghetti. While cooking the spaghetti you might need to stir it a few times.
4. Look at the time. The spaghetti requires 10 minutes of cooking time.
So I shall turn off the stove at 12.30.
5. Heat oil in frying pan.
6. Add onion and garlic. Stir-fry.
7. After the onions and garlic have been coloured lightly, add the chicken.
8. When the chicken is almost cooked, add the pasta sauce. If you want to be cheap, you can reduce the pasta sauce and add some ketchup.
9. When it is heated, add some salt (and chilli sauce if you want them).
What, can't I put a random picture?
10. Let it be. If the pasta sauce gets too dry, add some hot water.
11. Turn off the stove after the spaghetti have been cooked for 10 minutes.
Crap, a LITTLE overcooked.
12. Use a strainer to dry the pasta.
13. Place the pasta on the pasta bowl.
14. Add some olive oil into the pasta, and stir it. I don't know why, but without the olive oil, it's really not as good.
15. Add the slice of cheese above the pasta.
16. Pour the pasta sauce above the pasta, and above the cheese. The cheese will melt easily.
Woops, overload.
17. Serve while hot with your favourite drink.
ORANGE JUICE! WITH ICE!
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
There you have it, your perfect meal of spaghetti.
Hah I know that's a lot of pasta. But I finished it, felt really full later.
Now you know why I'm suppose to go out for some sports.
OK so before I continue, I'd like to URGE all of you to leave a comment on my cbox before leaving!
Damn it, can't you see what's above it? 'Make My Day'!
It really does make my day when you guys leave a comment! (At this point, I think hate comments too!)
So you guys don't wanna make my day lah now?
Come on it'll only take a few seconds. =)
Thanks!
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
So let's see how has my holidays been so far:
Saturday I went for Taekwondo training in the morning, and sparring training in the evening.
Sunday I went for futsal with (Shall I list the names? Meh what the heck,) Eugene Wong, Daren Shaharif, Daniel Johan, Bernard Foo, Chia Chuan, Augustine Tan, Wen Hao, Schaun Mohan and De Yao. (scored 3 goals babeh!) Also hanged out in Summit with a few of them.
Monday(yesterday) I went to Sunway Pyramid with Bryan, Julia and Paul, and watched Terminator Salvation and Night in the Museum 2.
A picture OMG!
Therefore, Tuesday(today) is my off day! So I decided to woke up early, and make my own breakfast.
(Right after I panicked to look for my missing drumstick (Yes I've lost one, not one pair.) I've been looking for since yesterday. Took me 7 minutes to find it. Yes I counted. It was under my dad's computer table.)
Behold. The omelette.
With ham, shallots and cheese.
The 2 pieces of toast.
Spreaded with some margerine.
The drink.
Milo.
Put them together, and you get...
COMBOWHORE! MY BREAKFAST!
Eat them, stack the plates, and you get:
Dishes to clean.
Open the omelette up, and you get...
I secretly hope this picture would salivate you.
Took me a few tries to get the omelette right, and although this is not perfect (out of milk, damn it), it was so far my best. Because I got to fold it perfectly!
I'll be free on Thursday and Friday. Jamming plans on Wednesday. So does anyone wants to jam/futsal? =)
Also, I'll be going back to my hometown for DURIANS, and my favourite foods in Muar.THIS WEEKEND!!!
The pictures are SURE to salivate you, so look forward to that.
So I'll see you guys.
P/S: No I didn't wash my dishes. My maid does. There's a reason my dad pay her. Hah. P/P/S: Yes! I really did made my breakfast on my own.
The video you are about to see, is my first EVER performance on stage since my 6 years old kindergarten concert, and my form 2 singing competition, where I "rapped" Numb/Encore.
Okay, I guess, basically, it's my first ever drum performance on stage, so do watch.
I hereby present you "Fly Me To The Moon - Red Roses" @ SMK Seafield 2009 Teachers' Day.
As you can see/hear, there were many technical errors, the guitar amplifier wasn't properly tuned, my mic was too far away from me, I was barely audible, even my drums, I dropped my lyrics and therefore forgotten the lyrics, and hence didn't sang the 2nd part of the song.
Eugene shows us how this candy game machine in Summit USJ is a scam.
We were here after futsal.
It was a good game guys.
EDIT: Apparently Daniel told me you actually have to put the candies in the centre so that it won't tilt due to the weight. Oh well.
